Very informative
The podcast is great. The topics discussed are current and relevant.
Clean Power Hour is Outstanding; Listen in!
Tim Montague and his colleagues have put together an outstanding podcast series with up-to-the-minute information on the ever-changing (especially lately, ack!) solar landscape. The speakers etc. are relevant and give those of us in the solar industry - including policy - information that we can use! Tim's insights as a longtime advocate and his knowledge about environmental and related issues is a plus as well. You get the real deal with Tim and his friends!
Amazing Subject Variety
I love what Tim does with the Clean Energy Power Hour. The subjects range from high-level industry challenges to nitty-gritty technical topics like UL 3741 requirements. His ability to tackle a broad range of topics ensures there's something for everyone.
A Value-Adding Listen
I'm a weekly listener of Tim's podcast. His content is both educational and forward thinking as the solar and storage spaces continue to evolve here in the US in quick-moving, turbulent times.
Where Clean Energy Gets Real — and Sometimes Nerdy
I’ve worked with Tim for over a year now, and the guy is the real deal when it comes to clean energy. His Clean Power Hour podcast isn’t just another talking-head show—it’s where smart people with street cred come to talk about how we actually get stuff done in the clean energy world. Tim’s got this knack for bringing together a network of experts who not only know their stuff but also know how to explain it. One episode you’re knee-deep in solar finance, the next you’re geeking out over batteries, and somehow it all makes sense. If you care about where the energy transition is headed—especially in the commercial space—and you want to hear from people actually moving the needle, this is your show. Plus, you’ll probably learn a few things you can drop at your next networking event to sound smarter than you actually are.
How Microgrids and Batteries Future-Proof Grid Resilience
Tim continually features exceptional guests who offer valuable insights about the rapidly evolving energy industry. As an industry veteran, he asks thoughtful questions that allow his guests to illustrate their particular knowledge and expertise. In this episode, it was quite encouraging to learn that microgrids and battery storage can deliver critical resilience during extreme weather events. Thank you Tim, for all you do to support renewables with your work as an educator and a podcaster.
Two Thumbs Up for Clean Power Hour
Great podcast for the clean energy pro, wannabe or energy nerd! Relevant & timely topics discussed with some of the best solar pros in the biz. Tim informs and inspires us all to help work for a cleaner & safer future.
Next to the sun, the CPH is the best thing in the solar system
Tim's Clean Power Hour has been a "born again" experience for me as I lean into semi retirement and look for other things to give me purpose and direction in life. His guests are excellent, and the way Tim navigates these discussions is nothing short of genius. I'm not up to speed technically, or with the terminology of the industry, so I'm about to read Tim's Wired for Sun, to prepare me for the 2 solar projects I plan on doing in conjunction with my business. I'm going to go off the scale and give Tim and his show/guests 6 stars.
technical & insightful
Clearly, Tim is talking to experts in the field with on-the-ground experience. It’s worth the short wait past the commercials to hear the one-on-one interviews. Be prepared, some are in-depth talks assumeing knowledge on the listener’s part of the jargon and acronyms of the field. But for a generalist like myself, (I’m an architect who has worked in building systems and envelope commissioning), it is fascinating to be let into the world of practical, large scale, solutions to renewably generating and storing electrical energy. Podcast sound quality isn’t stellar, at least on my narrow band-width access, but the information is there. Its given me a picture of a developing industry from the business side to the technical.
Pollinator & Wildlife Friendly Solar Farms - the good, the bad and the bees!
Tim, I am not sure if this was a podcast, but it provided me with good background information, for an abstract for a Grassland Studies Program. The abstract was to have a limited number of words. It went as follows: ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AND GRASSLANDS ABSTRACT Dwayne Wilson will give an oral presentation in coordination with slides posted on screen or poster as to the coordination of Solar Farms in rural or adjacent to an urban area. Consideration of the Pros and Cons arising prior to, or after the land acquisition of said agricultural or commercial property in the area of that Solar Farm. Are aesthetics considered by the company owning the Solar Farm. Is access to Solar Farm, considered in advance. Once the Solar Farm is completed, the advantages of disadvantages of Pollinator Habitat, animals, or short Native grasses, allowed within the fenced perimeter. Are there restrictions on the Environs surrounding the fenced perimeter and if so, what are those restrictions. I had also had a phone conversation with Tim, and he would have shared slides with me to use for my presentation. My abstract was not accepted, although I thought it schould have been.
A service for the renewable energy industry
Tim’s thoughtful questions and excellent lineup make his podcast a real asset to this industry.

Amazing
I received a lot new information about clean energy!
Best Clean/Green Energy Podcast PERIOD
Week after week, with incredible consistency, Tim and team put out the most riveting, fun, and educational podcasts in the renewables sphere one could ever hope for, with the most interesting and diverse guests. I learn so much every single podcast. Unlike some other green energy podcasts I've tried, there's no heady egos here, no jargon speak without explanation, no lines of questioning that are showy rather than expository. This show is all very relatable and the topics are explored with such clarity. Tim asks the absolute best questions, eager to take full advantage of the breadth and experience of each and every guest, rather than put himself front and center. The show should come with a warning however: "Be careful about listening to The Clean Power Hour while driving! You may have multiple urges to jot down things as you learn them, or record new thoughts that the podcast conversation has spurred inside you, which could distract you from the road ahead."
Quality!
Clean Power Hour has some of the best renewable energy content available! Tim is an expert in this space and it shows!
Fantastic show
The show every solar professional can benefit from! Thanks for curating such great guests and conversations. I learn something relevant to my work every time I listen!
Simplified but great information
I met Tim in our Chint Power Systems Sales summit in InterSolar San Diego. Since then, I started listening his episodes. That keeps me updated of the market status and business opportunities from great guests on the broadcast. I highly recommend it and will fully support his show 👍!
Clean Power Hour
In depth discussion of important issues in the clean power industry. Objective and fair.
Best Solar show
This is the best Solar podcast I’ve found and I tried many. I’m new to the industry but there’s a broad range of thoughtful information for newbies to very seasoned Solar pros. Loads of great guests and current news trends.
Great Show! Love learning from Tim!
I love listening to Tim and the Commercial Solar Guy enlighten the public about what exactly is going on. Listening to them makes them seem like they are my friends and on my level. Some podcasters think they are too important. These guys are real!
Inspiring content with a pragmatic lens
I'm excited to have learned about this podcast, via a collaborative interview with Suncast. Tim's and John's industry and development insight as well as excitement makes the podcast informative and a joy. One aspect of the conversations I've heard thus far, is their pragmatic and realistic interpretation to some of the problems of the industry. The industry is booming, but that just makes the small problems into booming problems. If you're wanting to stay up to date and hear a well rounded perspective, this is a great place to spend some time.
